On this week’s episode, I talk about what a stylist is and does, and speak to several stylists about how they got their start, what they’re looking for in assistants, and what their current job is. To start, I run through my own background, which began in magazines (Vogue, Interview), and call Samira Nasr, now the editor-in-chief of Harper’s Bazaar, who early in her career worked alongside me as an assistant at Vogue. I also discuss my process of collaborating with fashion brands and how I pull and choose the best looks for my clients. In addition, I speak with Derek Blasberg, head of fashion and beauty partnerships at YouTube, who also used to work with me at Vogue; Jareg Eng, the founder of Just Jared, who intimately understands the importance of red carpet photos; and the celebrity stylist Jason Rembert, who shares his circuitous path to success.
